The Association of Black Event Professionals (ABEP) is dedicated to representing Black individuals, businesses, and suppliers within the UK events industry. The Coup, in collaboration with The Zoo XYZ and Belong Designs, was entrusted with creating a website that reflected ABEP's mission and provided an intuitive, engaging, and visually cohesive digital experience.
ABEP lacked an engaging online platform that effectively showcased the organization's mission, represented its diverse community, and connected members of the UK events industry. The existing digital gap hindered efforts to centralize resources, highlight collaborations, and create a sense of belonging for Black professionals.
The Coup's design solution captured ABEP's ethos through thoughtful visual storytelling and user-centric design. Organic shapes symbolized growth and adaptability, while soft colours softened the interface, making it inviting and accessible. The black background and white accents provided a bold contrast, reinforcing ABEP's identity while ensuring readability and elegance. Each page was designed to integrate ABEP’s target audience, with images and models framed within organic shapes to emphasize inclusivity and diversity.
The Coup partnered closely with Belong Designs and The Zoo XYZ to ensure the website reflected the organization’s values and audience needs. Through workshops, brainstorming sessions, and user journey mapping, the team gained insights into ABEP’s vision and translated it into a cohesive digital experience.
